Game of Thrones: A Pop-Up Guide to Westeros

DELIVERABLE: Animated video trailer promoting a $65 Game of Thrones pop-up book.
ROLE: Copywriting, Animating, Editing, Sound, Working with license holders, Distribution
CONSIDERATIONS: Trailer had to highlight the very unique properties of the pop-up book and be effective in a number of situations including retailer online and in-store displays, international promotions, promotions through HBO’s social media assets and Comic Con booth and events.
RESULTS: Worked with the Paper Engineer to create stop-motion video of book unfolding in a way that would call back immediately to the title sequence of Game of Thrones. Video was first premiered on and garnered immediately strong metrics. Video was localized in French, Spanish, Japanese, German and UK markets, used at major US retailer for in-store display. Book ended up selling out in less than a month.
